Instructions for the Future (IF) Informal education as a tool for the dissemination of scientific culture is a national project (2012), co-financed by the Italian Ministry of University and Scientific and Technological Research, through a network of nine Italian Science Museums.
Project’ aims:
• reinforce the coordinated actions in scientific museums or science centers in Italy by promoting an effective tool for museums and by supporting the expansion of the museum centers
• to support training initiatives for the museum staff members (facilitators) through comparisons, good practices sharing in the museums and science centers
• develop a sustainable partnership between schools and science museums to enrich the scientific and technical educational experience through participatory planning
• strengthen the key role of the teachers as facilitator of learning process in collaboration with the museum educators
• create a space for participation for families through hands-on activities and experiences
• promote and enhance among Italians technical and scientific museums the network working ata national and international level
IF offered many initiatives in the different museums involved in the project: training opportunities for museums educators and teachers, workshops for schools and families to let them live rich and engaging experiences on scientific issues.
