Frequently asked questions for parents

Is the visit guided?

Tours at Explora are self-guided. Children can choose on their own the area to play in, stop there as long as they like, and change the activity whenever they want to.

May I let my kid play on his own at the Museum?

Please note that children are admitted with an adult only and adults are admitted with children only. Children cannot be left unattended in the pavilion.
Adults are responsible for their children’s behaviour and liable for their potential damages to the exhibits

Is online purchase mandatory?

Online purchasing is strongly recommended to protect visitors from the risk of sold out.
For group visits, or people with disabilities, it’s necessary to contact the ticket office in advance by writing to biglietteria@mdbr.it or calling 063613776.
For educational visits with classes, we recommend contacting our dedicated service for schools at insegnanti@mdbr.it.

May I leave the building during my visit?

For children’s safety, visitors will not be re-admitted once they leave the building during their visit. Thank you for your collaboration.

Is the Museum divided by age groups?

Inside the museum, children are free to explore: however, near the exhibits there are symbols indicating for which age group the exhibit is recommended.

How do you pay for parking?
  • Have your parking ticket scanned at the ticket office or inside the museum;
  • Pay at the parking’s automatic cashier or at the ticket office during opening hours;
  • Leave the parking area within 15 minutes of payment.
Which days are less busy?
  • tours at 15.00 and 17.00 during working days (except the session from 26th December to 6th January)
  • weekends from April to September
Why do tours last 1 hour and 45 minutes?

Visits to Explora last 1 hr and 45 minutes, in order to avoid overcrowding and to offer you the best tour possible!
