Is the visit guided?

Tours at Explora are self-guided. Children can choose on their own the area to play in, stop there as long as they like, and change the activity whenever they want to.

May I let my kid play on his own at the Museum?

Please note that children are admitted with an adult only and adults are admitted with children only. Children cannot be left unattended in the pavilion.
Adults are responsible for their children’s behaviour and liable for their potential damages to the exhibits

Is online purchase mandatory?

Online purchasing is strongly recommended to protect visitors from the risk of sold out.
For group visits, or people with disabilities, it’s necessary to contact the ticket office in advance by writing to biglietteria@mdbr.it or calling 063613776.
For educational visits with classes, we recommend contacting our dedicated service for schools at insegnanti@mdbr.it.
For people with disabilities, you can request free admission through this form.
For subscriptions or gift bookings, you can reserve through the dedicated forms – Subscription – Gift Explora.

May I leave the building during my visit?

For children’s safety, visitors will not be re-admitted once they leave the building during their visit. Thank you for your collaboration.

Is the Museum divided by age groups?

Inside the museum, children are free to explore: however, near the exhibits there are symbols indicating for which age group the exhibit is recommended.

How do you pay for parking?
  • Have your parking ticket scanned at the ticket office or inside the museum;
  • Pay at the parking’s automatic cashier or at the ticket office during opening hours;
  • Leave the parking area within 15 minutes of payment.
Which days are less busy?
  • tours at 15.00 and 17.00 during working days (except the session from 26th December to 6th January)
  • weekends from April to September
Is there a map to consult for the visit?

You can consult the digital map in the “Prepare your visit” section or pick it up in the Museum directly in printed form.

How long does the visit last?

The visit lasts 1 hour and 45 minutes.

Can I extend my time in the museum beyond the visiting round?

The stay for each visiting round is 1 hour and 45 minutes. It is possible to purchase a second visiting shift on the same day at a reduced cost.

Can I gift an open ticket?

You can purchase one or more open tickets . Visit the Gift Explora page to purchase tickets and find out how to reserve them.

Is Explora a private museum?

Explora is Italy’s first nonprofit, private museum run by the Children’s Museum Social Cooperative.

Can I cancel a visit?

You are eligible for a refund by writing to biglietteria@mdbr.it no later than 30 minutes prior to the visit time, after which time it will no longer be refundable, quoting purchase code and name as on the credit card.

Can private tours only be conducted?

Explora is open to preschools and elementary school with dedicated tours. Alternatively, you can visit Explora by organizing a birthday party or with an organized group.

Are drinking water dispensers available?

Yes, there is a drinking water dispenser inside the museum. We recommend that you bring a water bottle with you.

I have not received the ticket I purchased, what can I do?

As a first indication, we recommend that you check your email spam box. If you did not receive the email, please contact the ticket office at 063613776 or send an email to biglietteria@mdbr.it

I am late can I still enter?


Yes, but lost time unfortunately cannot be made up.

Can dogs enter?


Guide dogs or assistance dogs are allowed in compliance with Law 37/1974 et seq.
No other dogs or animals are allowed to enter, as per internal regulations.
