PLAY WITH RADIO
Discover the world of sound and radio

how to play
Play with the Radio is a permanent exhibit of the Museum, for free use during all visits.
The exhibit
An exhibit dedicated to the world of sound and radio: a full-immersion place based on a fun role game turning every girl and every boy into a deejay!
Play with the Radio, made with the Rai Radio Kids , promotes the development of children’s cognitive and emotional capacities, their ability to embody professional figures and face unknown situations in a reality-simulating playful context.
Radio communication, using the most modern technologies, and sound, are combined to explore the potential of audio effects and your voice; you can listen back to your voice as many times as you wish and test the track chosen for release.
A game where emotions also play their role: some tips before becoming real deejays help confirm your musical choice based on your preferences and skills, following its tempo and language, and dedicate the song to your beloved ones.
The station can also be used for deaf children thanks to the provision of a magnetic induction ring that allows listening to children with cochlear implants.
The project was born thanks to the collaboration with the Centro Ricerche e Innovazione Tecnologica e Sperimentazione Rai, with Dipartimento Organi di Senso dell’Università La Sapienza di Roma and the support of Direzione Rai per il Sociale

You see, the telegraph is a very, very long sort of cat. You pull its tail in New York and its head meows in Los Angeles. Do you understand that? And the radio works in exactly the same way: you send the signals here, and they receive them there. The only difference is that there isn’t a cat involved.
