A special day with free admission to celebrate World Children’s Day, which is observed worldwide on 20 November to mark the day on which the United Nations General Assembly adopted the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child in 1989. One hundred and ninety countries around the world take part in the Day, upholding the principles of equal rights and living conditions for children. Explora is celebrating alongside children and families, dedicating a day of free admission to them.

Please note: at least one adult must be present when children are present.

World Children’s Day

Every year, Explora celebrates World Children’s Day by recognising the fundamental rights of children as set out in the Convention: forty-two articles covering the right to play, to health, to identity and to protection. Read the dedicated article on the UN Italy website

Explora is committed to upholding these rights through its mission and its work, but also to raising awareness of them and sharing them with its visitors. The articles of the Convention are, in fact, featured in the canvases of the ‘Liberty’ exhibition on display in the hall and garden, and on the panels lining the ramp of the exhibition pavilion, where they are also translated into Braille.
