The event
Like many other organisations, Explora is also opening its doors for the fourth edition of Felicittà, the event organised by the Department of Heritage and Housing Policy, to showcase the places and organisations that form a significant part of Rome’s heritage.
Thursday 2 July: activities in the outdoor area from 6.00 pm to 7.00 pm, and a free guided tour of the museum at 7.00 pm, lasting 1 hour and 45 minutes.
All the activities are designed to introduce children to Rome’s cultural heritage, weaving together stories from the past and the future that connect so many different aspects of the city.
The Explora Museum is part of the city’s heritage: this year marks the 25th anniversary of its opening, and ‘Felicittà’ provides a further opportunity to share this milestone with its visitors.
As a space brought back to the community, to families and children, following the new concession (DAC 255/2025) granted to the Museo dei Bambini S.C.S., Explora reflects on its first 25 years: from a derelict former tram depot to a landmark for informal education which, every year since 2001, has welcomed over 160,000 visitors, promoting the values of cooperation, sustainability, equal opportunities and inclusion.
Select 2 July on the calendar.
Please note: the tour lasts 1 hour and 45 minutes, and tickets are refundable no later than 30 minutes before the tour begins. Photography and video recording will take place during the activities.

Felicittà
Felicittà is an event organised by the Assessorato al Patrimonio e alle Politiche abitative to showcase the places and communities that form a vital part of Rome’s heritage: numerous venues will open their doors to the public to share their stories and offer concerts, exhibitions, performances, guided tours, open lectures, debates and games. The event was created with the aim of raising awareness of the many outstanding initiatives and projects – whether social, cultural, recreational or sporting – that act as the social glue of our city and contribute to its equitable and sustainable well-being. It also aims to tell the unique stories and highlight the passion that drives them.
