The event

On Saturday 28 September, a special day with activities for children is scheduled to celebrate the awarding of the ‘Cuore di Kid Pass’ prize to the Explora museum, an acknowledgement for the 10 cultural realities most active in promoting family activities by the first Italian network dedicated to leisure time.

During the day, many realities will take turns between bookshop and museum to involve children in creative and scientific activities.

The activities

  • PINGU’S ENGLISH – Playful Learning, the language lab run by Pingu’s English Roma Montagnola, is dedicated to discovering new vocabulary of the English language with the friendly TV character Pingu. The workshop is colourful and full of educational activities, such as memory, puzzles, board games and other interactive toys that encourage children to learn in a fun and engaging way.
    Time: 11 a.m. to 12 noon, for children aged 3 to 6.
To participate in the activity, reservations are mandatory on the Eventbrite website.
    Reservations open from 18 September.
  • PINGU’S ENGLISH – Dino Discovery, the language workshop conducted by Pingu’s English Roma Corso Trieste, dedicated to the discovery of new vocabulary of the English language with the friendly television character Pingu.
The timetable is from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m., dedicated to children aged 7 to 11.
To take part in the activity, booking is mandatory on the Eventbrite website.
    Reservations open from 18 September.

  • Dinosauri in Carne ed Ossa – Take your Dino, the free-access, round-the-clock activity dedicated to all fans of prehistory, both children and adults. During the activity, it is possible to create, with the palaeoartist Marzio Mereggia, a sketch of your favourite dinosaur to take home as a souvenir or to colour on site.
  • Dinosauri in Carne e Ossa – Ask the palaeontologist, the free, round-the-clock activity to answer all questions and curiosities about the world of dinosaurs, with palaeontologist Simone Maganuco accompanied by the ‘flesh and blood’ model of Ciro, a baby Scipionyx, an Italian dinosaur of great scientific importance.

The activities proposed by Dinosauri in Carne Ed Ossa are designed for children from 3 years old and are offered during the museum’s 10:00, 12:00, 15:00 and 17:00 visiting hours.
  • Let’s cultivate biodiversity, with seeds offered by the Mielizia beekeepers, let’s have fun preparing our own seedlings to take home to make our bee friends live better!
Mielizia is the brand of CONAPI, the large cooperative of beekeepers who produce honey and beehive products in Italy. The activity is designed for children aged 3 and up and offered at the end of the 3pm shift.

The public is also entertained by the participation of Rai Radio Kids, which, from the museum’s Giochiamo con la Radio (Let’s play with the radio) display, offers free and continuous activities in the 10:00, 12:00, 15:00 and 17:00 shifts.

Scheduled for 12 noon, Explora will receive the ‘Heart of Kid Pass’, the recognition of merit in welcoming families through the promotion of innovative experiences of value on a child-friendly scale.

The ‘Cuore’ Kid Pass

The Kid Pass award includes the presentation of the ‘Cuore of Kid Pass’ , an acknowledgement that the organisation has decided to donate to 10 cultural realities to celebrate its first 10 years of activity.
Kid Pass is the first digital portal and magazine, which has become the point of reference for families with children who want to enjoy quality experiences: born as a startup in the incubator of the Science and Technology Park of Venice, it now has over 100 thousand consultations of the kidpass.it website every month, 20 thousand subscribers to the newsletter, more than 20 thousand events promoted and a community that includes 130 cultural structures. In particular, two annual appointments in the country’s museums and cultural venues have entered the family agenda: Kid Pass Days (this year the tenth edition took place on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 May in over 120 museums and cultural venues throughout Italy) and Avventure tra le pagine in collaboration with children’s authors (an annual appointment in November).

A weekend full of surprises

The last weekend of September includes a rich calendar of events.
On Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 September, besides the great day in the museum with Kid Pass, there will be a big party with Urban Nature, the event dedicated to nature and hosted in the outdoor area.
Also in the museum the official opening of Genius Loci, the new Explora exhibition. A permanent and interactive exhibition inside the Museum: a renovated 80 square metre space in which a playful-educational pathway on nature is created with video mapping and interactive tables with a focus on biodiversity and sustainability.
