INFORMATION
Project duration: October 2025-June 2026
Contribution: €14,252
Description
Little STEM 3 is the third year of a project funded by the fondi Otto per Mille della Chiesa Valdese (Union of Methodist and Waldensian Churches) that offers educational activities for learning scientific subjects and developing cross-curricular skills to students in Rome schools.
Objectives
The project promotes the development of transversal, scientific and cognitive skills in the remaining five nursery classes at a school in a suburb of eastern Rome, thus completing the 14 classes of the experiential educational programme proposed by Explora over the three years of the project.
By introducing STEM subjects from an early age, the project encourages the development of critical thinking and scientific reasoning through observation, design, and experimentation using a laboratory-based and cooperative approach.
The STEM activities aim to innovate teaching and encourage the continuation of classroom activities by offering fun, stimulating, and innovative educational and teaching experiences.
Exposure to STEM improves the cognitive, emotional, and relational skills of the children involved, supporting a process of inclusion, growth, and group participation.
Explora’s activities
Through the project, Explora will achieve:
- 1 informative webinar on teaching methodology and the STEM approach for teachers and parents
- 10 classroom meetings with activities and donation of STEM materials for 78 pupils aged 3 to 6, 15 teachers, and families from nursery schools;
- free digital teaching materials (e-books);
- 5 educational courses at Explora: “Me and colours”.
