The event

Explora Urban Nature is back at the Explora Museum: the celebration of Nature in the city , the event promoted by WWF ROMA and the Metropolitan Area, scheduled for Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 September.

In the green area of the museum two days of free admission with workshops and activities by Explora’s staff and WWF activists, proposed to explore how to develop concrete actions to protect, enhance and increase urban biodiversity.

The programme

Let’s colour the fauna together
Creative drawing workshop organised by WWF Rome and Metropolitan Area.
For boys and girls aged 3 to 11.
Free activity without reservation from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Body Painting
A station organised by the artist body painter Annachiara to transform into bees, butterflies and many other pollinating insects with natural and safe colours.
From 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
From age 4.

The world of bees
ALPA- Lazio Association of Beekeeping Producers and UNAAPI member beekeeping workshops.
The Lazio association of beekeeping producers ALPA, a UNAAPI associate, will set up a stand during the day dedicated to a multi-sensory introduction to the world of bees, suitable for both adults and children. Those interested will be able to explore and study different bee products such as wax, propolis, etc. ALPA beekeeping technicians will be on hand to answer questions about the beehive superorganism and to support knowledge about the fundamental supporting role played by bees in pollination. During the day, ‘A sweet sensory journey’ will be constantly proposed, in which registered honey sensory analysis experts will accompany those present to discover various monofloral, urban and non-urban honeys. Visitors will discover the correct method for tasting a honey, its many organoleptic characteristics, properties and any defects present. For adults and children.

Insecta – Genius Loci
Free playful experience with Insecta, the new virtual exhibition in augmented reality by Habitat, the new software by Explora, searching for insects hidden in the garden.

‘Nature in the city: discovering Villa Borghese’.
Walk with WWF experts in the urban green.
Departure at 11.00 am from Explora the Children’s Museum of Rome – Via Flaminia 82. Duration of the walk: 1.30 hours’.

Each one offers shelter to wild plants, birds, insects, reptiles, mammals and other organisms that adapt to the available urban habitats. The challenge is to keep everything in balance. Let’s explore urban biodiversity and see how we can help protect this wealth.

A plant for the future

A plant for the future. Special WWF station in the Museum garden to promote and raise funds for nature conservation through the sale of heather calluna. Also in this edition, thanks to fundraising, it will be possible to support projects to educate people about the value of nature in urban spaces for wellbeing and safety, as well as supporting projects in cities and WWF oases – Reserve your plant by writing to: info@wwfroma.it

Un weekend di sorprese

L’ultimo weekend di settembre prevede un ricco calendario di appuntamenti.
Oltre a Urban Nature, l’evento dedicato alla natura e ospitato nell’area esterna, in programma all’interno del Museo la consegna del cuore Kid Pass con attività e laboratori creativi per bambine e bambini proposti dalla più grande piattaforma per famiglie. Una giornata dedicata ai più piccoli con attività pensate per dare spazio alla creatività e alla scoperta.
Sabato 28 e domenica 29 settembre, inoltre, l’inaugurazione ufficiale di Genius Loci, il nuovo spazio di Explora caratterizzato da proposte immersive che permettono di sperimentare le potenzialità del digitale e comprendere alcuni fenomeni naturali. Una stanza delle meraviglie della natura con postazioni che consentono di interagire con luci, forme e colori e che incoraggiano, attraverso il gioco, il rispetto verso la natura.
