The event

On Thursday 18 December, from 4.30pm to 5.30pm, the Museum bookshop will host a special event with free admission: a live online concert by Euromuse, accompanied by the Christmas Lights workshop.

The initiative celebrates the Euromuse project, co-funded by the European Union’s Creative Europe programme, which has led to the creation of two new musical works (synomusic), born thanks to the work and artistic sensibility of two international composers in residence at the Museum last April.

During the event, children will be able to take part in the “Luci di Natale” workshop, a creative activity dedicated to making bright decorations to hang up and shine, designed to involve everyone through play and personal expression.

The concert will be screened on a large screen in the bookshop and represents a unique opportunity to attend the premiere of the new symphonic compositions, meet the composers before and after the performance, and discover the creative process and sources of inspiration that guided the creation of the works during their artistic residency.

This is a unique opportunity for the public to hear a preview of the new original compositions created for the Museum.

EUROMUSE museums and their composers:

  1. Museu De Arte Pré-Histórica, Macao, Portugal: Nataša Jevtić (Serbia) and Rafaelos Cristophy (Cyprus)
  2. Kotsanas Museum of Ancient Greek Technology, Athens, Greece: Ariana Ferrera Grinaldi (Italy), Jorge Ramos (Portugal)
  3. Explora, the Explora Children’s Museum, Rome, Italy: Maia Steinberg (Netherlands) and John Kotsilakis (Greece)

We invite everyone to participate in this special event and discover a new dimension of the museum experience, enriched by music and shared creativity.
