The event
A museum in my own way is Explora’s initiative that provides tour shifts designed to improve the museum enjoyment and inclusion of its public.
A museum in my own way offers a visit mode in which arrangements are made to respect the needs of children who prefer exploration in a quieter environment, with open areas for relaxation and a reduction of sensory stimuli, favouring, in full Explora style, free play and discovery.
The visit is a meaningful experience for all children and represents a moment of sharing and interaction respecting individual needs.
Specifically, the visit includes
- limited public capacity (80 people);
- space for Little Explorers (0-3 years) open as a relaxation area – on request for all ages;
- possibility of leaving the pavilion and re-entering during the visit upon request of the children;
- reduced music and sound to reduce sensory stimulation.
During the visit, you can request a CAA map of the museum at the information desk.
Admission to the museum is always free of charge for:
- minors with disabilities 0-18 years + accompanying adult;
- adults with a certified disability of more than 74%;
- adults with a certified disability of more than 74% requiring continuous assistance + accompanying person. Book here for free admission
During the event Un museo a modo mio (A museum my way), playful recreational activities are proposed by the Pegaso University.
Proposed by RENLAB (research laboratory in educational neuroscience) Department of Psychology and Educational Sciences. The proposed activities offer a sensorial and interactive experience designed for children with and without Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
The 15-minute activities are designed to promote greater awareness of the relationship between the environment, sensory stimulation and learning. By participating, children, parents and teachers also contribute to scientific research aimed at exploring how sensory learning environments can stimulate awareness of neurodiversity in both children and adults.
Access to the activities is free and supervised by specialised Pegaso University staff, guaranteeing an inclusive and professional experience.
