The event

This February, there are four events in the bookshop dedicated to the Crescere Insieme (Growing Together) project, created with the support of the Lazio Region, L.R. 24/2019, Annual Plan 2025. The project aims to promote a culture based on respect, inclusion and accessibility through educational activities focused on celebrating diversity and protecting children’s rights, with a particular focus on preventing bullying.

The first event is on Saturday 7 February at 4 p.m., with free admission to the bookshop, dedicated to the book Il topo e la talpa (The Mouse and the Mole) by Joyce Dunbar James Mayhew, translated by Mara Pace and published by Nomos Edizioni.

The animated reading of the book and the activity that follows recount and celebrate bonds: the protagonists of the book, although profoundly different animals, find themselves sharing stories and everyday adventures united by a unique and precious value, friendship.

The book was chosen to celebrate Mismatched Socks Day, which takes place every year on the first Friday in February. The day was created to promote acceptance of diversity, inclusion and to combat bullying, inviting everyone to wear different socks to celebrate the uniqueness of each individual, a symbolic gesture that teaches children and adults the value of differences.

Photographs and video recordings will be taken during the activities.

Upcoming events

  • Saturday, 14 February: activity dedicated to the book Io, tu e gli altri (Me, You and Others)
  • Saturday, 21 February: activity dedicated to the book Cosa è normale? (What is normal?)
  • Saturday, 28 February: activity dedicated to the book Che bello condividere (How wonderful to share).

The project Crescere Insieme

Crescere Insieme (Growing Together) includes a series of activities and events offered at the museum, in the green area and in the bookshop, all with free admission for children. It was created thanks to a public notice aimed at allocating grants to public and private CULTURAL SERVICES already included in the respective regional organisations O.A.R., O.B.R. and O.M.R., for the year 2025, for activities and modernisation.

Designed to promote a culture based on respect, inclusion and accessibility, the project offers educational activities aimed at promoting diversity and protecting children’s rights, with a particular focus on preventing bullying. The initiative is aimed at children aged 3 to 11, nursery and primary school pupils, together with teachers, parents and visiting groups.

The next event for families and groups will be held on National Anti-Bullying and Cyberbullying Day – 7 February – in the museum garden.
