The event
We celebrate International Education Day with the first event dedicated to the Crescere Insieme (Growing Together) project, created with the contribution of the Lazio Region, L.R. 24/2019, Annual Plan 2025, designed to promote a culture based on respect, inclusion and accessibility through educational activities aimed at enhancing diversity and protecting children’s rights, with a particular focus on preventing bullying.
On Saturday, 24 January, free admission to the museum for children at 10:00, 12:00, 15:00 and 17:00. During each visit, activities will be offered by Explora and Il Treno soc. coop. soc.le onlus.
The programme
- Future Alphabet – A collective installation where every letter counts – continuous activity led by Explora. Age: 3 years and up
- Raccontamani – animated bilingual reading in Italian and Italian Sign Language, led by Il Treno soc. coop. soc.le onlus. Age: 3 years and up.
- Learn by leaving your mark – A manual printing experience with images, letters and ink to personalise your new pencil case – continuous activity in all shifts led by Explora – Age: from 3 years.
- Give colour to words – Choose one and colour it with spin art – activity dedicated to creating works of art using bicycles and rotating planes. Age: from 3 years.
Remember: tickets for children are free. For safety reasons, at least one adult must accompany children during the visit. If you are unable to attend, please write to biglietteria@mdbr.it (adult tickets are refundable no later than 30 minutes before the visit). Photographs and video recordings will be taken during the activities.
In the garden
Do you know what empathy is? These and other questions are asked in the new activity Mission Inclusion – Find the hidden codes, answer the questions and collect the cups.
Free and accessible, the activity takes place in the museum garden and is dedicated to the Growing Together project. An initial panel guides you in your search for QR codes hidden in the green area, through which you can answer questions, obtain clues and advance in the challenge.
All you need is a single connected device to participate, making it suitable for all ages. Treasure Hunt is an activity designed and developed by Explora, conceived to encourage sharing between adults and children and combine digital technology with physical movement in an active learning experience.
The value of the game lies not only in the transmission of knowledge, but also in the opportunity to explore, interact and have fun together, through a language accessible to all.
Next steps
The Crescere Insieme (Growing Together) project includes a series of activities and events held in the museum, the green area and the bookshop, all with free admission for children.
The next event for families and groups will be held on National Anti-Bullying and Cyberbullying Day on 7 February in the museum garden.
The bookshop will also host animated readings every Saturday in February (7/2, 14/2, 21/2, 28/2) dedicated to sharing and inclusion.
International Education Day
Established by the UN and celebrated every year on 24 January, International Education Day highlights the fundamental and priority value of education.
As stated in Article 26 of the Convention on Human Rights, the right to education is the foundation of society, as it guarantees a promising future for new generations.
This objective is also pursued by Goal 4 of the Sustainable Development Agenda, which emphasises the importance of ensuring equitable and inclusive quality education through lifelong learning opportunities for all (SDG #4).
These are values that Explora hopes to achieve, as an agent of social inclusion, through its educational activities aimed at children, schools and families.
