Spark 2025: Call for speakers now open
Applications are now open for the Call for Speakers for the second edition of Spark, the workshop dedicated to museum education professionals, designed to explore, connect and promote innovative teaching strategies.
After the first edition held at Explora, the Children’s Museum in Rome, the second edition will be hosted by the Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia: on 18 November 2025, the splendid rooms of Ca’ Rezzonico – Museum of 18th-Century Venice will welcome Spark’s audience from museums and institutions throughout Italy, with significant international participation.
The Venetian edition makes Spark an event of international importance with the participation of Catherine Ritman Smith, Head of the Young V&A Education Department.
The focus of the workshop will be to provide concrete educational resources and solutions for audience engagement through the sharing of knowledge, direct experience and a peer-to-peer approach. Presentations will also focus on research in the field of pedagogy, which is fundamental for understanding, innovating and improving educational processes, promoting more effective and inclusive educational offerings centred on the audience.
Those who wish to contribute with their own presentation can specify this using the application form below.
Presentations should last approximately 10 minutes, be informal in tone and focus on sharing experiences, specific activities or best practices related to museum educational services.
Application deadline: 1 October 2025
