Explora receives the ASviS 2025 Certificate of Good Territorial Practice

Explora, il Museo dei Bambini di Roma, has received the Certificate of Best Practice for a more sustainable Italy 2025, awarded by ASviS – Alleanza Italiana per lo Sviluppo Sostenibile (Italian Alliance for Sustainable Development), for the SHORE project.

This is an important recognition that rewards the museum’s commitment to promoting and enhancing sustainable development in our country.

Among the 224 practices nominated, the SHORE project, proposed by Explora, was selected as one of the 30 initiatives to be included in the ASviS 2025 Territorial Report, in the chapter dedicated to experiences considered exemplary for their variety of approaches, tools, and objectives.

Through community involvement, these practices make a concrete contribution to building a more sustainable, inclusive, and fair Italy.

For Explora, being part of this selection represents a significant achievement and an opportunity to promote SHORE, a project funded by the European Union as part of the Restore our Ocean and Waters mission, which aims to protect and restore the health of European seas, oceans, and waters through research, innovation, and civic participation.

SHORE

SHORE is a European initiative involving schools, students, and teachers to promote knowledge and awareness of ocean literacy issues.

The project involves:

  • Call for school projects with funding of up to €10,000;
  • a digital platform dedicated to sharing resources and best practices;
  • the “Ambassador of the Ocean” Award, intended for students and schools that are particularly active in marine issues.

SHORE operates through a network of national Country Hubs, which provide support and coordinate local activities. The project consortium brings together 14 international partners, including Explora, the University of Padua, Yildiz Technical University, Euronovia, Mare Nostrum, and other organizations active in five European geographical areas: the Mediterranean, the Baltic, the Black Sea, the Danube, and the Rhine.
