Explora, Rome’s children’s museum, is the perfect place for some end-of-summer fun. It’s not just a museum, it’s an exciting experience, a journey where you can explore, play and learn in complete freedom.
With 2,000 square metres of interactive exhibits, Explora is a place loved by children aged 0 to 11.
On the ground floor, you can experience the thrill of shopping in a supermarket designed for children, grow your own vegetables, play with the human body and discover the secrets of the wind.
And that’s not all! You can challenge your friends to an exciting team game on the circular economy and venture into the “Piccole Esplorazioni” (Little Explorations) area, where every corner is a new discovery.
Discover the power of play and knowledge
On the first floor, you will find PARI, a game trail consisting of 11 interactive displays designed to make you think and learn more about equal opportunities.
And then there is Economiamo: earn and save, donate and invest! Ten interactive stations have been recently renovated thanks to the Explora Cresce project, supported by the Fondazione Roma. In this journey, economics becomes a fun and engaging game, where learning is a never-ending adventure.
During the visit
The Explora fountain is temporarily closed for maintenance: it will be available again at the end of September after the work planned by the Explora Cresce project, supported by the Fondazione Roma.
During your visit, you can take part in the “Onde di fantasia” (Waves of Imagination) workshop, an activity where you can observe, fold, position and create new shapes, making a work of art out of paper and cardboard. The three-dimensional sculptures combine art and engineering, celebrating the movement of water.
