Free admission to the museum with mandatory booking from 23 September (subject to availability). Reservations are not required to participate in the workshops offered during the tour.

The event

Friday 27 September is the return of the European Researchers‘ Night 2024, the event promoted as part of Frascati Scienza’s LEAF – heaL thE plAnet’s Future – project: at Explora two free-entrance sessions at 5pm and 7pm, for Scientific Experiences on Nature.

The event at the museum involves researchers in activities and workshops that reflect informal learning and are proposed to children through observations, classifications, experiments and discoveries, underlining the importance of scientific research for biodiversity.

The event is also an opportunity to discover for the preview Genius Loci, Explora’s new space characterised by immersive proposals allowing to experience the potential of digital technology and to understand some natural phenomena. A room of the wonders of nature with stations allowing to interact with lights, shapes and colours and encouraging, through play, the protection and respect towards nature.

Activities

  • My first herbarium, ages 3/5.
    Practical activity of creating a herbarium to discover how to classify and recognise plants and flowers while learning to explore and respect nature together with Botanist Francesca Ferroni.
  • Nature in the round, ages 6/8.
    Discover how scientists explore and understand the natural world through interaction with tools and materials such as stones, bones and shells with Researcher Marco Massimi, Botanical Naturalist.
  • Bugs: a mega-world, age 9/11.
    Discover the incredible diversity of insects and learn how scientists identify them by describing their morphological characteristics together with Researcher Dario Nania, Zoologist.
