Description
Crescere Insieme (Growing Together) project was created thanks to a public notice aimed at allocating grants to public and private CULTURAL SERVICES already included in the respective regional organisations O.A.R., O.B.R. and O.M.R., for the year 2025, for activities and modernisation.
Designed to promote a culture based on respect, inclusion and accessibility, the project offers educational activities aimed at promoting diversity and protecting children’s rights, with a particular focus on preventing bullying. The initiative is aimed at children aged 3 to 11, nursery and primary school pupils, together with teachers, parents and visiting groups.
Goals
Growing Together aims to accompany children on a journey of conscious growth, promoting the recognition and appreciation of differences as resources rather than reasons for exclusion. Through activities designed by Explora and included in the museum, garden and bookshop programme, the project reinforces the role of culture as an educational and preventive tool, contributing to the creation of welcoming, fair and respectful environments for all.
Some activities will also be supported by guides and maps in Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), a tool that facilitates and enriches communication by going beyond the most common linguistic channels, such as spoken language or writing.
Educational activities
The project includes a series of events and activities dedicated to children but designed to appeal to all visitors.
In particular, it focuses on the following activities:
- Activities for schools: free visits with workshops for nursery and primary schools for a total of 600 pupils;
- Activities with families and groups on International Education Day – 24 January – with free admission to the museum for children;
- Free activities with families and groups on National Anti-Bullying and Cyberbullying Day – 7 February – in the museum garden;
- Series of meetings in the museum bookshop throughout February.
Inclusion
The Crescere Insieme (Growing Together) project allows for the implementation of videos in Italian Sign Language (LIS) dedicated to the museum’s new exhibitions.
There will also be an enhancement of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) as a tool for inclusion and accessibility.
Education
The Crescere Insieme project also includes a section dedicated to adult education through a free online course offered on the Explora Education portal, presented at the 2026 Open Day for Teachers.
