Description<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Active is a project supported by the European Commission, that aims to use animation as tool to educate, entertain and inspire kids aged 5 to 8 to enjoy and adopt a healthier lifestyle by eating sensibly and getting fit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Active is supported by the EU\u2019s Health programme. Award winning animators and international experts have teamed up for this project: Business Solution Europa (project coordinator), Griffilms, Istituto G. Gaslini \u2013 Centre for the Prevention and Treatment of Childhood Obesity, Universit\u00e0 di Napoli Federico II \u2013 Department of Food Science (UNINA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since January 2009 to January 2011 the partners worked with children across several European countries to evaluate the content of the cartoon animation My Friend Boo. The three episodes of the strand teach children the value of a healthy lifestyle that includes regular exercise and balanced eating.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

IThe final project was launched in Brussels on November 17th 2010 and is now available to broadcasters for free. The animated series was translated in several languages and is accompanied by a teaching pack that provides teachers and educators with support to teach kids how to be active and have fun at the same time!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thanks to its coordination skills, Explora created a network of European Children\u2019s Museums and coordinated their work. 100 children (600 in total) per country were involved by each Museum:
Technopolis a Mechelen \u2013 Belgio
Artland a Sofia \u2013 Bulgaria
Imaginosity a Dublino \u2013 Irlanda
Parkminiatur a Lodz \u2013 Polonia
Ceip La L\u00e0ntia a Matar\u00f2 \u2013 Spagna<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Explora and the 5 Museums coordinated the work of 5 primary schools that took part in focus groups, during which they collected input, opinions, thoughts and knowledge on the issue \u2018A Healthy Life\u2019. Further inquiries were carried out through the collection of feedbacks of parents and other children visiting the Museums. On special weekends the screening of the series has been arranged for visitors.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
