The event <\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Saturday 13 June<\/strong> , the second instalment of SHORE: Celebrating World Oceans Day<\/strong>, an event made possible by the SHORE project, funded by the European Union.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is the second of two events, on 6 and 13 June, organised by Explora to celebrate World Oceans Day, which takes place every year on 8 June.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through games, experiments and interactive creative activities, children can discover the secrets of the sea and the importance of protecting the marine ecosystem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through this educational and fun experience, the day is dedicated to the wonderful creatures of the sea, whilst also teaching small actions to safeguard the marine environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The activities are free, open to all, and take place in the museum\u2019s outdoor area from 10.30 am to 3.00 pm and from 3.30 pm to 6.00 pm.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Clean Water Mission<\/strong>
A fun and fascinating experiment to discover how nature manages to purify water through the soil.

Let\u2019s Colour the Sea<\/strong>
Sunlight, waves and the reflections of the clouds make the sea ever-changing and magical. Using the marbled paper technique, we create unique and one-of-a-kind seabeds.

Let\u2019s Discover the Sea<\/strong>
The sea is full of surprises and is home to extraordinary creatures, just waiting to be discovered.

Activities with A.D.A. \u2013 Association for Education and the Environment APS<\/strong>
from 11.30 am to 12.00 pm, from 12.00 pm to 12.30 pm, from 4.30 pm to 5.30 pm and from 5.00 pm to 5.30 pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a drop of water: hidden clues to understanding ecosystems: chemistry, microorganisms and aquatic insects<\/strong>
An activity to convey the idea that a single drop of water can contain a complex universe, made up of chemical elements, living organisms and valuable information about the health of the environment. By observing and analysing carefully, it is possible to discover whether a sea or river is clean, whether it is home to a good number of different life forms in good health, or whether the waters have been altered by the presence of foreign substances introduced by humans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the activity, the children become little scientists and explore water through various observation and experimentation activities. Alongside chemical analyses, the workshop also delves into the study of the living creatures that inhabit the water.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The title \u201cIn a Drop of Water\u201d encapsulates the workshop\u2019s deeper meaning: learning that even what appears small and simple can tell important stories about nature, the balance of ecosystems and the relationship between humans and the environment. Looking inside a drop of water means developing scientific curiosity, a spirit of observation and an awareness of the value of water as a precious resource to be protected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A.D.A. \u2013 Associazione per la Didattica e l\u2019Ambiente APS<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A.D.A. \u2013 Associazione per la Didattica e l\u2019Ambiente APS has, over the years, developed an ongoing programme of activities in the fields of environmental education, training, educational planning and the promotion of the local area, working in partnership with schools, local authorities, protected areas, networks of associations and public institutions across Lazio and Piedmont.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over time, the association has established a recognisable presence, particularly in school and educational settings, supporting teachers, students and local communities in initiatives focused on environmental awareness, active participation and responsible citizenship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The association\u2019s activities have included refresher and training courses for teachers, educational projects aimed at schools of various levels, the management and running of documentation centres and local workshops, and the organisation of conferences, public events and scientific outreach initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

World Oceans Day<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

World Oceans Day is celebrated every year on 8 June to raise awareness of the importance of the oceans and the need to protect them. Established following the 1992 Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro and officially recognised by the United Nations, this day invites us to reflect on the vital role that seas and oceans play in the climate, biodiversity, oxygen production and life on Earth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
