The event<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Saturday 6 June<\/strong> marks the first event in the SHORE: Celebrating World Oceans Day<\/strong> series, an event made possible by the SHORE project, funded by the European Union.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is the first of two events, on 6 and 13 June, organised by Explora to celebrate World Oceans Day, which takes place every year on 8 June.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through games, experiments and interactive creative activities, children can discover the secrets of the sea and the importance of protecting the marine ecosystem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thanks to this educational and fun experience, the day is dedicated to the wonderful creatures of the sea, whilst also learning small actions to safeguard the marine environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The activities are free, open to all, and take place in the museum\u2019s outdoor area from 10.30 am to 3.00 pm and from 3.30 pm to 6.00 pm.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Did you know that animals talk to each other under the sea too? Let\u2019s find out by making our own crab castanets and bringing the sounds of the ocean to life.

In the middle of the sea<\/strong><\/strong>
Among the rocks and seaweed lies a whole world: solitary fish and colourful schools. Let\u2019s make a thaumatrope and bring our fish to life in its marine environment.

Wild wings<\/strong>
Discovering the birds that live in lakes, along rivers and by the sea.
Through tales, interesting facts and surprising stories, we\u2019ll learn about and draw these fascinating creatures\u2026 and realise just how important it is to protect the habitats where they live!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
